At the end of last year, we wrote about becoming the 100th Partner of the Rail Safe Friendly Programme, educating young people about the dangers existing around railways.
The Rail Safe Friendly Programme team keep all their partners informed on a regular basis about the activities which have taken place with their respective selected schools. They encourage schools to offer feedback on the resources provided during engagement sessions, enabling them to improve delivery and reach.
With this in mind, we were recently sent our first report since signing up to this important initiative, advising us that RSF had reached nearly 200 young people on our behalf.
After delivering their presentations, RSF continue to interact with the school(s) by offering support or further information and materials as required.
Of course, the concept behind this incredibly important programme is to educate young people to keep them safe and out of harm’s way around railways. As AGS often works in safety critical situations, this resonates strongly with our own “Stay Safe” campaigns and ethos.
Further calls to our selected schools will continue to take place in the coming months and we are looking forward to receiving our next round-up from RSF.
